MACMA Industry Day 2023 SPEAKERS

  Danielle O’Connell, VP, Client Development, AAM
Danielle O’Connell works with AAM’s magazine, B2B/farm and point-of-care media clients as well as AAM’s agency partners. Prior to her current role, she worked at media organizations including Waiting Room Subscription Services (WRSS), Martha Stewart Living and National Review. Danielle’s current focus is helping AAM clients navigate industry changes and introducing them to programs and partnerships that help them gain greater exposure for their quality work.
 

Richard Murphy, CEO, BPA
Richard Murphy joined AAM in 2023 following the merger of AAM and BPA Worldwide. Previously, he was president and CEO of BPA. Throughout his more than 30 years with BPA, Rich has held executive leadership positions in several areas including technology assurance, auditing and accounting. A graduate of St. John's University, he is a licensed CPA in the state of New York and a Certified Information Systems Auditor.

  Brian Morrissey –The Rebooting

Brian Morrissey is the founder of The Rebooting, a publication focused on the methods of building sustainable media businesses. For nearly a decade, he was the president and editor-in-chief of Digiday Media, a vertical media company that has titles covering media and marketing (Digiday), fashion and beauty (Glossy) and retail (Modern Retail). At Digiday, he was responsible for all editorial across the brands, memberships, product, events programming and design. Prior to joining Digiday in 2011, he was digital editor at Adweek for six years. He’s spent two decades in digital media.


  Carla Zanoni, Head of Audience, Marketing & Analytics at TED

Carla Zanoni is TED’s Head of Audience, Marketing and Analytics, focusing on the development of engagement and acquisition strategies that increase TED’s brand relevance, reach and revenue.  

Previously, she was the first global Audience & Analytics Editor and Latina to be named to the masthead of the Wall Street Journal, where she worked to transform the newsroom to be digital and data-informed. She created and lead the newsroom audience engagement, development, analytics, and emerging media teams, and was a regular on-stage interviewer and moderator at the global publication's conferences.  

Her roots are in community news. She led national digital and social strategy at DNAinfo.com in New York and Chicago, two award-winning hyperlocal news sites. She also worked as an award-winning metro reporter in the 2000s and helped launch the first newspaper dedicated to New York City politics (now called City and State). Carla received her undergraduate degree in English and graduate degree in journalism from Columbia University. She is a poet and writer and is completing her first book, a literary memoir about self worth. 

  Roberta Muller, SVP Product Development, Northstar Travel Group

Roberta Muller is the Senior Vice President of Product Development for Northstar Travel Group.  Northstar is the leading B-to-B information services, data, events, and marketing solutions company serving all segments of the travel industry.

Over the years, Roberta has helped transform and grow Northstar’s digital product portfolio by overseeing the operations of Digital Ad Production & Email, Audience Development, Project Management, Product and Marketing Solutions.  She puts enthusiasm and passion into every challenge and understands how critical it is to focus on innovation and transformation.   Roberta enjoys mentoring and watching her team member’s flourish.  Roberta has been with Northstar for thirty-five years, and amazingly, she still learns something new every day.
  Eric J. Dickens - Director of Digital Ad Operations & Digital Ad Services

With over 15 years of experience within the world of Digital Advertising, Eric J. Dickens is now a member of the Northstar Travel Group family. He continues to expand his skill set and knowledge, while working as the Director of Digital Production. Previously he attended Delaware State University, where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in the Arts and later received his master’s degree in Media Studies at the New School.  Eric began his career as a traffic coordinator at Turner Broadcasting Systems.

Over the years, he’s had the privilege of working for several prestigious publisher that include, Paramount (formally known as Viacom), Disney, A&E and NBC.

Now leading a team of 15 members, Eric enjoys learning new aspects of the business and introducing new technologies to NorthStar’s various brands. While working under the direction of Roberta Muller, he is eager to explore new possibilities that will allow Northstar to expand in the digital space.

Kristine Wyatt – Director of Growth, B2B, Morning Brew
For more than 15 years, Kristine has been steering marketing strategy for b2b media brands. She's spent a significant portion of her career driving customer acquisition/retention, leading martech integrations and developing demand generation strategies. Kristine is currently Director of Growth at Morning Brew, where her focus is on investment in audience growth to create editorial engagement and optimize partner marketing investments.

  Jim McKelvey, CEO, Invisibly, Co-Founder, Square
Jim McKelvey is a serial entrepreneur, inventor, philanthropist, artist, and author of The Innovation Stack: Building an Unbeatable Business One Crazy Idea at a Time. He is co-founder of Block (formerly known as Square), and served as the chairman of its board until 2010, and still serves on the Board of Directors. In 2011, his iconic card reader design was inducted into the Museum of Modern Art. In 2017, McKelvey founded Invisibly, an ambitious project to give people a new way to access and pay for content. He is a Deputy Chair of the St. Louis Federal Reserve.
